Wyoming County Mental Health Clinic
Mental health treatment for children and youth ages 4 to 17 is provided with
a focus on family therapy. Parental involvement in their children's treatment is
seen as key to successful treatment. Input from the school, pediatrician, or
other social agencies is included in developing a comprehensive biopsychosocial
assessment. Child psychiatric consultation and medication therapy is also
available. Common problems served at the clinic include depression, anxiety,
attention deficits and other behavioral problems.
School based services:
Our POEMS ("Prevention Of Emotional and Mental Syndromes") counselors
provide preventive mental health services in all six elementary schools in
Wyoming County (Warsaw, Perry, Letchworth, Attica, Arcade and Wyoming elementary
schools). Referrals are made through the schools.
Intensive Case Management for Children & Youth:
This service is available for qualified children and youth who have a
serious mental health problem. The service is designed to help maintain at risk
youth in the community.
PINS Diversion Program:
This service provides mental health assessment and treatment of at risk
youth who have been identified by the Juvenile Justice System and are also
participating in the county PINS Diversion program.
